Raemosims February Feature

My name is Rae. I’m 22 years old. I’m a proud Slytherin and I’m from Yorkshire, England. I’m currently a full time catering assistant. In my spare time, I’m usually reading, playing board games or, of course, playing The Sims. I love Lilo and Stitch and I’m obsessed with Harry Potter.

My first ever Sims game was The Sims 2, along with Open For Business, back in 2006 when I was 8, so I’ve been playing for 14 years. I’d say that what keeps me playing is that anything is possible. I play with a lot of mods and custom content so I’m not limited to what EA gives us. It makes game play fun and fresh so I don’t get stuck in a rut with my saves. There are some extremely talented content creators out there that make amazing things.

My favourite Sims game to date has to be Sims 3: Pets. I spent a long time playing The Sims 3 and the one pack I couldn’t live without was Pets. Pets are such a vital part of our lives that every family I made without them felt empty. I have grown up with animals and currently have 3 dogs myself so I hate playing without them.

I tend to play more realistic styles of game play. I enjoy making the people I know in real life so I created and entire save file around my life. I love to play out loads of possible endings. I also enjoy playing all the challenges that the community has created. My favourites are The 100 Baby Challenge, The Legacy Challenge and The Rags To Riches Challenge. They keep you motivated as you have an end goal to reach for and it keeps thing exciting.

I think the only way I would quit would be if a better game came out. There are endless possibilities out there of what can be created.EA gives us so much, but I also feel like there’s a lot of things that they aren't giving us. Eventually people will get tired of hoping and go somewhere else that delivers better content.

My favourite thing about The Sims 4 so far is the Realm of Magic pack. I’ve always enjoyed playing with occult Sims. They inspire a different time of gameplay to explore. Realm of Magic really impressed me in terms of gameplay content.

The thing I hate the most about The Sims 4 so far is babies. Babies are not objects. EA need to go back to The Sims 2 for how babies should be in the game. Why give us a simulation game, but leave out a key part of life?

I think that EA need to listen to their customers more. Give the players what they want. Props to them for the new stuff pack vote. I think they should start implementing votes more often so that we have a better chance of our voices being heard. There’s nothing worse than being excited to get a new game only to be disappointed with it’s content.

I haven’t properly followed the community for long. I used to go on The Sims 3 forums back in the day. I recently joined Twitter and started following other Simmers on there. I feel like there’s a lot of love in the community, but it seems like there’s always something negative going on.
